The National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA), the voice of the wood flooring industry in North America, needed multiple 3D technical illustrations for the latest edition of its Wood Flooring Installation Guidelines publication, NWFA’s flagship product which had not been updated for nearly a decade. ruef had worked with NWFA previously on technical illustrations for earlier publications and content for NWFA’s magazine, Hardwood Floors.
This new round of technical illustrations included job site descriptions, moisture detection, basements and crawlspaces, and more.
ruef 3D artists worked directly with NWFA’s V.P. of Technical Standards, Training, & Certification, Brett Miller, who provided the details needed to create the most technically in-depth illustrations possible. ruef 3D artists took great care to design the illustrations in a user-friendly, modern way. The project underwent multiple rounds of feedback to ensure accuracy and reader comprehension.
In total, 12 technical illustrations were provided to NWFA by ruef according to the publication’s specifications. The Wood Flooring Installation Guidelines was published in late 2019 to industry acclaim.
“ruef Design has been doing work for NWFA technical publications for several years. We love the detail, and consistency Zack and his team provide for documents that are as important to the wood flooring industry as our Technical Publications.”
