challenge
GWS, a company specializing in large-scale relocations, intra-campus moves, and move management, needed a new website to highlight the company’s abilities and technology, as well as case studies, customer challenges, and community projects. The website would be the hub for multiple GWS brands that serve different industries, as well as the home of GWS Corporate, the company’s flagship brand.
ruef and GWS have worked together over the past year and half to build up the GWS brand from its out-of-date logo and online presence. The previous GWS website was designed in the early 2000s, and the company was so unhappy with the site and ready for something new that while the new site was being built, they took the old site down and had ruef put up a “coming soon…” image with the new GWS branding.
process
After the successful launch of GWS Healthcare’s website, and the GWS Hospitality website shortly thereafter, ruef and the GWS team wanted to take the bold design strategy even further, as the GWS overall brand continues to evolve and be solidified. First, the ruef team met with the GWS marketing leadership team to hear more about GWS’ goals and structure ideas for the new site. Next, taking this direction, ruef designed multiple site mock-ups for GWS’ review and approval. GWS provided feedback that further defined what they wanted to see on the home page and internal pages. The site was developed on the WordPress platform using a custom theme ruef built specifically for GWS.
results
The website launched in early November 2019. GWS marketing team and GWS leadership were impressed with the final site, saying it “competes with anything on the marketplace — really sharp.” ruef and GWS are already working on Phase 2 of the website, which will introduce video and more interactive features.
