NWH operates over 40 manufacturing and warehousing facilities across the country including sawmills, concentration yards and distribution facilities using innovative technologies to streamline the procurement process for customers. NWH supplies only sustainable, high-quality hardwoods to protect our resources today and for future generations. The company came to ruef for help in promoting its Alder products, a species of hardwood that is growing in popularity for its use in lower-cost cabinetry and millwork.

our process

ruef developed and pitched a number of strategies to promote Alder, including messaging, video, a landing page, an email marketing campaign, and some more tangible ideas including brochures and something unique: Alder sample boards. Similar to carpet sample displays one might find in a home improvement store, these Alder sample boards would show the versatility of the species with different stains. The 24”x18” portable display also features product characteristics, messaging, and company information. The boards were assembled in-house by ruef employees, an all-hands-on-deck project that took place over a couple of full days.

Northwest Hardwoods had ruef print and assemble roughly 75 Alder sample boards and 300 Alder brochures initially. ruef then shipped the sample boards and brochures directly to a number of NWH’s customers and partner-sellers. Northwest Hardwoods’ sales team fell in love with the sample board idea, requesting more to send to their customers and use in meetings. The company recently underwent a logo update and is currently discussing ordering another round of sample boards with the new branding.
