3D animation and full video production of lumber manufacturing process

Located in Union City, IN, Frank Miller Lumber is a premier provider of quartersawn red oak, white oak and other hardwoods.  Frank Miller Lumber needed a way to highlight the company’s unique quartersawing process, a sawing method that produces the industry’s most stable and beautiful lumber for end use in the manufacturing of flooring, furniture, cabinetry, and more. Frank Miller Lumber’s marketing partner, ruef design, proposed the development of a 3-5-minute video encompassing 3D technical animation and live-action video.

our process

Production began with the development of the script and story boards. Our video crew, consisting of two camera operators, a director and a production assistant, traveled to the Frank Miller Lumber headquarters for the one-day video shoot to capture the entire quartersawn process, from the log yard to the shipping yard. The footage was edited down to three minutes of video accompanied by about a minute and a half of 3D animation. An energetic and modern stock music bed was selected, and a professional voice talent was hired.

Let's create a good idea together.
